"Thank you all for your replies. Our budget and time are much lower than our deisre to create an electric car from our dead fossil fuel Saturn.
I think we'll have to take our loss here and move on...
Thank you again for everyone's…"
The cost suggested was $5,000-15,000 depending on what kind of conversion, range and performance required. I have a basic 96 Volt DC conversion with some used, some new parts and flooded lead acid batteries. Happy to get together for coffee…"

This is a big project, and not to be taken lightly. I would…"
"$2,000 is very low. $7,000 is adequate. Somewhere in-between if you can come up with some used parts, or cheap batteries.
I don't know much about the Saturn. Does it have much room for batteries? What is the weight rating?"

Ok members, we need help. Our Saturn died and will cost just as much to repair as we paid for it. Ironically, all parts that need to be replaced, we would not need if we converted to electric. We would rather invest the money into an electric conversion than keep contributing to fossil fuel usage. We need to know how much this will cost and who can do this. 1996 Saturn SL2, standard trans. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,DrewSee More
